Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the 2020 Indianapolis Early Music Festival regrettably has been cancelled. The 2020 Indianapolis International Baroque Competition has been rescheduled as the closing event of the Indianapolis Early Music Festival in 2021.

At this time, we cannot count on providing a healthy environment for our competitors, judges, audience, and others involved. Keeping everyone safe is our first priority.

We also faced uncertain practical challenges that included the United States Department of State suspending visa services worldwide, sufficient time for the artists to practice together, and the availability of our performance hall.

Like so many in our country, artists are being hit hard financially. IEM is pleased that it will continue to pay the artists it had contracted with for the 2020 Season. Please visit the artists’ websites, listen to their music, and consider buying music from them.
